Skin Boosters vs Dermal Fillers: Two Tools, Two Jobs | Skin Within Academy
Here is a question you have probably had: “Aren’t these the same thing?” Both often use hyaluronic acid. The similarity ends there.
The core difference
Dermal filler adds volume and structure. Skin boosters use a thinner, more fluid form of hyaluronic acid to hydrate and improve skin quality without changing shape.
How application differs
Filler is placed at targeted points to build or restore volume. Boosters are usually delivered as small injections spread across a broader area, closer to an internal hydration treatment than a sculpting one.
What to expect from each
Filler results are visible almost immediately. Booster results build over a course, in hydration, glow and texture.
Using them together
This is increasingly common: boosters for skin quality, filler for specific volume loss. See Combination Treatments.
Matching treatment to concern
Hollowing and lost volume point to filler. Dull, dehydrated skin without significant volume loss points to boosters. Your consultation identifies which concern is really driving the request.
